Wouldn't it be incredible if all the people in this tribe all lived in the same
city?
I was marvelling today at the incredible creative connectivity that exists because of this
and other online communities.
You might now find a single other person in amongst your friends who love these kinds of
things (outsider art, experimental music, et. al.) but here we can discuss and turn each other
on to new ideas, techniques and artists at will
It's pretty amazing to me who lived his entire life (born in '53) without an internet connection until
a mere 7 years ago.
Glad to be here!

i'm in australia and don't know anyone (in the physical world) who's into most of the stuff I like.
it's great to be able to find out what people are doing creatively and how and why, even if its annoying that I'm missing most of it. -

Re: I just joined and had this thought
Fri, June 9, 2006 - 3:31 AMI know, for how fucked the world is these days, there are some amazing blessings in it.
I talked to this 95 year old woman a few weeks ago. She was volunteering at a UNICEF store
in the Santa Cruz Roasting Company.
I said, "Wow, 95, you must have seen so many amazing things and witnessed so many technological changes in your life.........................how do you feel about the world?"
Her answer really surprised me as I have talked to a lot of very depressed, confused and angry older people.
Said, "This is the best time in history and the future will be a very good one."
"Why", I queeried.
"Because of the internet", she replied and continued..........."Many of the children of the world are talking to each other in different countries, exchanging ideas and figuring out ways to make the world right again.......This has never happened in history before and the future lies with these children of the internet."
I went away feeling really happy after talking to her.
